Colon Cleansing Benefits
by Jeffrey Norris
As Dr. John Harvey Kellogg proclaimed nearly a century ago, "90% of the
diseases of civilization, are due to improper functioning of the colon."
Obviously, this is a bold statement, but one which I believe is probably, at
least fairly close to being accurate.
Personally I believe that some of the inital reluctance of the mainstream
medical community to accept colon cleansing, is that it was considered 'alternative', or 'naturopathic'
medicine. Most often people are somewhat resistant to change, and to accept something that is new or different.
This seems to be especially true of many things medical. The benefits of colon cleansing however, can
no longer be ignored or dismissed as a fad.
A quick search for colon cleansing on the Internet will give literally
hundreds of thousands (if not millions now) of pages containing testimonials of people that have experienced the
wonderful effects that colon cleansing offers.
Just a small sample of some of the relief that individuals have experienced is
listed below:
-
Cessation of Menstrual Pain
-
Relief from Constipation
-
More Energy
-
Weight Loss (Often Times Extreme Amounts)
-
Skin Rashes
-
Healthier Hair, Skin and Nails
-
Youthful Appearance
-
Relieved Migraines
-
Better Vision
-
Sharper Mental Functions
-
Breast Cysts
-
Sinus Conjestion
-
Joint Pain
-
Hemorrhoid Relief
The list could go on and on, but that gives you an idea of the
possibilities of colon cleansing. It would seem that with all the reported relief from colon
cleansing, that it would substaniate what Dr. Kellogg said those many years ago. Is colon cleansing a
treatment for every medical condition ? Obviously not. Does it still get less respect as an extremely valid, useful
treatment and preventive course of action by much of the medical community than it should ? It most certainly
does.
If you ask one of the professional medical people how to explain
away the many benefits by the untold numbers of individuals using colon cleansing, they will
usually always use the 'placebo effect' explaination. The placebo effect is documented, but when you have the kinds
of numbers that are represented here, it doesn't come even close to discrediting colon
cleansing.
I believe as more is learned on the cellular level in medical research, and more
open-minded doctors and other medical people start to accept colon cleansing, it will be finally seen
universally for the excellent procedure that it is.
Also, colon cleansing doesn't have to be a medical procedure in the
sense of having it performed by another individual, often times utilizing equipment and costing a large some of
money. Some excellent methods that can be done at home for just a few dollars are available, as are commerically
available, reasonably priced products. The best, and cheapest method to perform your own cleansing was developed by
Stanley Burroughs, and documented in his book (1941), The Master Cleanser.
If you're considering colon cleansing, but are apprehensive at all,
talk to your doctor first. It's very likely he may laugh or at least attempt to discredit the procedure, but I
doubt seriously if you'll hear him say that there's anything dangerous about it. Obviously, if you do
purchase a product for colon cleansing and it causes any type of serious side effect, you should discontinue
it's use immediately and consult a medical professional if you deem necessary.
